Tulia, Texas— Emma “Lou” Hardy, 91, passed away on June 14, 2016 at her home in Fritch, TX. She was the wife of W.T. “Dub” Hardy. They shared 72 years of marriage together. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 3:30 pm at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 in the Minton-Chatwell Funeral Home in Fritch, Texas from 10:00 am to 12 noon. Lou was born in Neosho, MO on March 14, 1921 to Tom and Iva Hickman. The family soon moved to Texas where Lou was raised. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Borger, TX. She enjoyed playing golf, quilting, meeting weekly with her friends at the Senior Citizens Center and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her love of the game of golf and her fried chicken. Lou always had a smile for everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert and Eugene Hickman. She is survived by her husband, W.T. “Dub” Hardy, their son Bill and wife Barbara of Fritch and her sister Annie Schuster of Tucumcari, NM, grandsons, Heath and wife Kelly Hardy, Drew and wife Brittany Hardy all of Fritch, great grandchildren, Taylor and husband Kennen Mackey of Canadian, TX, Bailey, Ty, Raegan and Sage Hardy all of Fritch, one great-great grandson, Kalon Mackey of Canadian, TX.
