Jeanette T. Martin, 70, died Friday, April 7, 2006 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 11, 2006 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Lindley officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Silverton Cemetery in Silverton under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. Mrs. Martin was born March 15, 1936 in Silverton, Texas. She grew up and attended schools there. She graduated from Silverton High School in 1954. She attended Clarendon Junior College for 2 years before transferring to West Texas State and graduated in 1958 with a degree in education. She taught in Pampa for two years before returning to Silverton where she taught for 8 years. She married William Earl Martin in 1961. He passed away in 1979. They moved to Tulia in 1965 where she worked for Caprock Home Health Care for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she took care of the Nursery for over 20 years. Survivors include a daughter, Melinda Jan Barnett of Bitely, Michigan; a granddaughter, Racheal Martin of Tulia; one brother, Jaye Turner of Rio Rancho, N.M.; two sisters, Janice and Frank Odom of Lubbock, and Joann and Jim Griffin of Del Norte, Colorado; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
