Susie Lopez Lara Salas, 62, of Plainview passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 in Plainview. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 11, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit, Texas with Rev. Richard Waiwood officiating. Burial will follow in Kermit Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 7 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Mrs. Salas was born October 7, 1946 in Monahans, Texas to Epifanio and Juanita Lopez. She was a resident of Plainview and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband: Luis Salas of Plainview; her mother: Juanita Lopez of Monahans; two daughters: Irene Byington of Lubbock and Veronica Lara of Plainview; five sons: Michael Lara of Plainview, George Lara of Plainview, Domingo Lara, Jr. of Floydada, Leo Lara of Monahans and Gabriel Lara of Lubbock; one stepson: Adam Salas of Plainview; five sisters: Frances Lopez of Monahans, Paula Najar of Monahans, Cruz Lopez of Monahans, Lisa Lopez Gonzales of Odessa and Priscilla Martinez of Odessa; one brother: Epifanio Lopez, Jr. of Monahans and thirteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Domingo Lara; her father: Epifanio Lopez, Sr. and one daughter: Angelica Lara.
