G. Wayne Adair, 72, of Plainview, passed away at 9:04 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006 at his residence. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock with Rev. Leonel Gonzales Chaplain of Area Community Hospice officiating. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Adair was born on October 11, 1933 in Boswell, Oklahoma to Fitzhugh Lee and Vinnie Mable Welch Adair. He married Peggy Williams on August 18, 1955 in Lubbock. Mr. Adair graduated Tahoka High School in 1951 and from Texas Tech University in 1955. Mr. Adair became a C.P.A. in 1956. He received his Masters Degree from Texas Tech in 1958. He moved to Plainview in 1960 where he started his own accounting practice. He received his Doctorate in 1966 from Ohio State University. Mr. Adair moved to Fort Worth in 1987. He retired in February 2005 after 45 years of practice. He moved back to Plainview in February of 2006. He was a member of The Texas Society of C.P.A.’s, Past President of Pheasants Unlimited, a member of the Rotary Club, an active member of the American Heart Association and sang in a Barber Shop Quartet. Survivors include his wife Peggy Adair of Plainview; Two Sons and spouses: Bob & Kim Adair of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Brent & Terry Adair of Fort Worth; One Daughter and Son-in-law: Brenda & Terry Carter of Plainview; Two Sisters: Hulene Mansell of Lubbock and Jane Reed of Lubbock. Eight Grandchildren: Chris Hicks and wife Jennifer of Weatherford, Melissa Gregg of Plainview, Austin Adair and wife Carla of Fredricksburg, VA, Jon Carter and wife Krista of Plainview, Taylor Adair of Tulsa, OK, Tiffany Adair of Tulsa, OK, Kassie Womack of Oklahoma City, OK and Zach Womack of Oklahoma City, OK. Three Great Grandchildren: Katelyn Gregg of Plainview, Lauren Carter of Plainview and Cash Hicks of Weatherford. Memorials may be made to Area Community Hospice 3109 Olton Rd. Ste.
