Jean George (Plainview)

Jean George, 77, of Kress passed away on Wednesday evening, July 20, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday July 25, 2016 at the Church of Christ in Kress with Mr. Bryan Barrett of Ft. Worth officiating. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday, July 24 at Kornerstone in Plainview. Jean was born on May 18, 1939 in Granite, Oklahoma to J.C. and Vesta Galloway. Her family moved to Texas when she was young. They lived in Halfway, Plainview, and then moved to Kress. She worked at a bank in Tulia for several years. Jean served as the Kress City Secretary for many years. She was a member of the Kress Church of Christ where she taught bible class to children. She married Tommy George on October 13, 1990 in Kress. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Vesta Galloway; two brothers, Joe Wayne Galloway, and Jimmy Ray Galloway Survivors include her husband Tommy George of Kress; two sisters, Emma Jane Bynum of Plainview; Vesta June Jackson of Spearman; 45 nieces and nephews; and many many great nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials can be sent to the Kress Cemetery Association in Jean’s memory.
