Plainview, Texas-Ray Dunnam, 89, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, July 25, 2016 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Schafer, pastor officiating and Dr. Max Browning assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Ray was born on June 1, 1927 in Plainview to Joseph Alvin and Rhoda Paralee Dunnam. He was the youngest of seven children and lived in Plainview his entire life. He attended Wayland Baptist University. He served in the US Army after WWII in Japan. He married JoAnn Breashears on August 12, 1950 in Plainview, Arkansas. He worked for the Post Office for 35 years. He was a Mason, he lead singing at Trinity Methodist church for many years and was a member of the choir at First United Methodist Church. He loved the music of the church. He loved animals. He enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved with all his heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, five sisters and one grandson; Matthew Rush. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Dunnam of Plainview, one daughter: Karla Rush and husband Doug of Wichita Falls, two sons: Ken Dunnam and wife Kay of Forney and Kirk Dunnam and wife Brenda of Monahans. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Christopher Rush and wife Billie of Denton, Kourtney Dunnam of Allen, Thomas Dunnam of Houston and Sydney Dunnam of Richardson.
