Bobby Douglas, 80, of Plainview passed away Sunday July 31, 2016 in Lubbock. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Plainview Family Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Doug Yates officiating. A private family burial will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Page officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Bobby was born on September 12, 1935 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Chyral and Sylvia Douglas. He attended schools and graduated from Plainview High School in 1955. Bobby married Nelda McCullough on July 6, 1956 in Slaton, Texas. He attended Texas Tech University before joining the U.S. Army where he served in Germany for 2 years. He returned home and worked for the Douglas Dairy in which his family owned and operated. He later worked for Pioneer Seed for 17 years and then Cargill Seed before retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Plainview Family Church of the Nazarene and loved watching football and baseball. He also loved watching his grandchildren participate in school sports and activities. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Chyral and Slvia Douglas; daughter, Kathy Darlene Douglas; and a brother, Donald Douglas. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nelda Douglas of Lubbock; three daughters, Debbie Towns of Edmond, Oklahoma, Cindy Ferguson and husband Curt of Lubbock, Becky Turner and husband Lynn of Tulia; one sister, Belva Palmer of Independence, Kansas; five grandchildren, Christa Pennington and husband Gabe of Hydro, Oklahoma, Elly Towns of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kevin Towns and fiancé Tara Torres of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kaley Turner of Abilene, and Bryson Turner of Tulia.
