Tulia, Texas- Lauro Villarreal, 81, died on August 3, 2016 in Tulia, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2016 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father David Contreras officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Lauro Villarreal was born on February 5, 1935 to Hipolito and Isidra Villarreal in El Sauz, Texas. He grew up in El Sauz, Texas and graduated from Roma High School. He married Beatrice Basaldua on February 24, 1982 in Mission, Texas. He worked for Campbell Lumber Company for twenty years until his retirement. They moved to Tulia in 2006 and he lived the happiest years of his life in Tulia. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Santiago Villarreal, Guillermo Villarreal, Lisandro Villarreal, three sisters: Leonila Alaniz, Lorenza Perez and Leocardia Salinas. He is survived by his wife: Beatrice Villarreal of Tulia, four sons: Robert Villarreal of Tulia, Lauro Villarreal, Jr., Xavier Villarreal and Edward Villarreal all of Corsicana, TX, one daughter: Leticia Silva of Corsicana, TX, two brothers: Flavio Villarreal of El Sauz, TX and Lino Villarreal of Falfurrias, TX, one sister: Lenor Resendez of El Sauz, TX, fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
