Tulia, Texas—June Inez Gore, 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:00 am in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with President Joe Longoria from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating. Burial will follow in Silverton Cemetery in Silverton, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. June was born on January 27, 1929 in Silverton to Hattie Seay and Joseph Ziegler. June was married to Doyal Gore on July 9, 2007. They made their home in Tulia. June enjoyed a long nursing career spanning over 50 years. She worked in area hospitals and nursing homes. She loved taking care of her patients and they loved her because of the kindness, care and compassion she gave to them. She served as Director of Nursing at the Tulia Care Center where staff fondly remember her and respected her work ethic and devotion. She was an honor student in her class and continued to earn many awards and recognition for excellence throughout her career. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Violet Thomas, Clara McCain, Jo Ann Vaughn and one brother: Riley J. Ziegler. She is survived by her husband; Doyal Gore of Tulia, one son: Don George and wife Kay of Tulia, three daughters: Carole Moore of Chandler, AZ, Sharla Behan and husband Wayne of Omaha, NE, Willa Kelley and husband Steve of Lake City, FL, her s tepchildren: Randy Gore and wife Nita of Tulia, Glenn Gore and wife Lisa of Silverton and Vicki Moss of Amarillo, one sister: Faye Pointer of Quitaque, 44 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren. June was devoted to her family, cherishing each one of them. She had a great capacity to love and enriched their lives with this lasting legacy.
