Joe Casias (Plainview)

Joe Casias, Sr., 64, of Hale Center, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 24 2009, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Joe was born September 24, 1944 in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Marcello and Camilla Casias. He worked for Fuller Tire, Firestone, Henry Tire, Quality Check, and several farmers in Hale Center. He was a Catholic. He is survived by his ex-wife, Severa Casias of Amarillo; four sons, Danny Casias of Lubbock, David Perez of Amarillo, Ernie Casias of Tulia, Larry Casias of Midland; three daughters, Brenda (Plasencio) Oliva of Amarillo, Joanne Casias of Amarillo, Terri Perez and Jiemi Hernandez of Hale Center; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Alfonso Casias of Hale Center, Lorenzo Casias of Grand Prairie; three sisters, Francis Mojica from Cotton Center, Juana Cruz from Lubbock, Maria Trevino of Hale Center, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcello and Camilla Casias, two brothers, Martin and Marcalino Casias; one sister, Benita Acosta; and a son, Joe Casias, Jr.
