Eureta Swanner, 91, passed away Tuesday August 16, 2016 in Lockney. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 20, 2016 at 10 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church in Plainview, TX with Rev. Linvell Tisdale officiating and Rev. Phillip Hamilton assisting. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Friday August 19, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, TX. Eureta was born on February 5, 1925 in Dodsonville, Texas to the late R.L. and Lenora Smith Tisdale. She grew up on the farm and played volleyball at Littlefield High School where she graduated. She married A.C. “Jack” Swanner on December 18, 1942 and they moved to Plainview in 1944. She worked for the Hale County Abstract office before working for the Hale County Tax office for many years. She was part owner and manager of Southwest Business College in Plainview and she worked for NGL Transport, Inc. before retiring in 1999. Eureta was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She loved her family and her church. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and seven brothers and two sisters. Eureta is survived by her daughter, Reta Star Craft of Plainview; her son, A.C. “Jackie” Swanner, of Midland; one sister, Lenora Massey of Brownwood; one brother, Johnny Tisdale of Littlefield; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great, grandchildren.
