Dionel Davila (Plainview)

Dionel Davila, 61, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 22, 2016 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Jared Middaugh and Sergio Bernal officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 6 P.M. at the funeral home. Dionel was born on July 4, 1955 in Robstown, Texas to Rafael & Julia Davila. He graduated from Plainview High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He married Sylvia Bernal on February 26, 1994 in Plainview, Texas. Dionel worked for the United States Postal Service for 31 years. He is preceded in death by his parents Rafael & Julia Davila. Dionel is survived by his wife, Sylvia Davila of Amarillo; two daughters, Keila Davila of Amarillo and Katie Davila of Austin; four brothers, Israel Barrera of Fontana, CA, David Davila of Plainview, Dario Davila of Plainview and Demetrio Davila of Waco; four sisters, Irma Villareal of Albuquerque, NM, Delia Garcia of Fort Worth, Dalia Davila of Plainview and Delmira Santos of Plainview. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Veterans Administration.
