Nida Lee Peck (Plainview)

Nida Peck, 85, of Plainview passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 8, 2016 in the Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Mr. Bill Smith officiating and Mr. Jerry Klein assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 6 to 7 P.M. at Kornerstone. Nida Lee Parker was born on May 5, 1931 in Waka, Texas to Otis and Ollie Parker. She graduated from Plainview High School and Wayland Baptist University. She was an original member of the International Choir at Wayland. She was a school teacher and taught at Sanford ISD, Lockney ISD and Plainview ISD before retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Hale Center Church of Christ. Nida married John Peck on July 21, 1952 in Plainview. Nida was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Peck who died shortly after birth and Karol Peck who was killed by a drunk driver; one brother, Curtis Parker; and her parents. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Peck of Plainview; one daughter, Debra Peck of Lubbock; one son, Kyle Peck and wife Sharon of Midland; three grandchildren, Keegan Peck, Kelsey Peck, Kensly Peck all of Lubbock; two nieces, Vivian Smith and husband Tom of Florida, Patricia Grice and husband Greg of Florida and one nephew, Don Parker and wife Becky of Kansas. The family would like to thank the staff of Santa Fe House, Area Community Hospice, and Gloria Ferrer, Margie Diaz, and Alice Perez for their special care of Nida. The family suggests memorials to the Children’s Home of Lubbock or Charity of your choice.
