Gene Bumpus approached him about building a spray machine that would be high over the crops and burn the weeds with propane. So the Vic’s High Trac was born and it was shipped all over the country. He built a combine attachment for Baker Castor Oil that would harvest Castor beans. In 1963 he would return to his first love, farming. They bought land west of Plainview and built their first house in what is known as the Ebeling addition. In 1976 they bought land in Kress and Claytonville to farm. When Patsy was diagnosed with cancer and they retired from farming, they bought a R.V. and travelled the United States. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Harriet Ebeling; three brothers, Ernest Ebeling Jr., Wade Ebeling and Weldon Ebeling.
