Juanita Hyatt (Plainview)

Juanita Hyatt, 88, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in Amarillo. Funeral Services will be at 4:00 P.M., Thursday, July 2, 2009, at First United Methodist Church Chapel in Plainview with Rev. Travis Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Hyatt was born on March 1, 1921, in Olton, Texas, to Levi Dudley and Stella Thompson Jones. She married Leonard Hyatt on December 15, 1942, in Dimmitt, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1961. Mrs. Hyatt was a member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview and she moved to Amarillo in 1978. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo. She was a caretaker for the elderly and was a very caring and giving person. Mrs. Hyatt is survived by one brother, Bryan Jones & wife Lily of La Harbra, California; one sister, Virginia Hyde & husband R.C. of Plainview; many nieces & nephews; many great nieces & nephews and many great-great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, Leonard Jones, Carroll Jones, Wayne Jones, Dennis Jones, and two sisters, Evelyn Sears, Mattie Eisner.
