Tulia, Texas—David Powers, 69, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in Tulia, Texas. David was born on October 11, 1946 in Springfield, Colorado to David Lawrence Sr. and Anna Liisa Powers. He was raised in Boise City, Oklahoma. After graduating Boise City High School, he served in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Enterprise, for four years. While in the service David married Diane McGowan on December 9, 1967 in Reno, Nevada. David was a truck driver since 1974 and became a owner operator in 1990 until his death. David enjoyed, his owner/operated driving with his wife and Andy too, the dog. His passion was driving and he was very pleased to help with the Lubbock Coronado High School band trailer. He is preceded in death by his parents, his infant grandson: Shawn Matthew. He is survived by his wife: Diane Powers of Tulia, two sons: Kevin Powers, wife Patti, of Atlantic Beach, Florida and Brian Powers, wife Michelle, of Perryton, one daughter: Cheryl Andrews of Lubbock, four brothers: Mike Powers, Steve Powers, John Powers and Pete Powers, four sisters: Ellen Stone, Anne Houser, Mary Miller and Lisa Blakley. Six grandchildren: Curtis, Michaela, Jacob, Caleb, Dylan and Kamryn and one great granddaughter.
