Pearl L. Simon, 93, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 in Tulia. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 P.M Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father David Contreras officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel of Tulia. Pearl L. Simon was born to Robert Newton Mark and Sarah Ann Mark on June 21, 1923 in Protection, Kansas. When she was 7 years old her father passed away. Her mother raised her and her 3 siblings during the dirty 30’s. She married Walter C. Doolin in August of 1941. In her early years she was a wife, mother and homemaker. After the death of her husband in 1964, she went to work at the City Drug Store in January of 1965 and retired in November of 1993. In December of 1993, she married Walter M. Simon of Tulia, TX. Her fondest memory with her family was spending time at Christmas with the grandchildren and just spending time together and going fishing. Her greatest accomplishments were raising her children to have faith and honesty in their lives and being a good home maker. Pearl loved to sew and make things that are useful. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first & second husband, her brother: Jacob Mark, her sisters: Mary Guinn and Verna Lee. She is survived by her two children: Bob Doolin and wife LaVelta of San Angelo, Neoma Ozment and husband Doyle of Tulia, five step-children: Pat Leach and Milton Simon both of Lubbock, Linda Gales and Mike Simon both of Tulia and Annette Sprawls of Round Rock, 6 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, 22 step-great grandchildren, and 3 step great- great grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be made to Swisher Memorial Hospital, Meals on Wheels or Charity of Choice. Online Condolences may be made at www.kornerstonefunerals.com
