Louise Boedeker Hodel, 90, formerly of Plainview, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009, in Lubbock. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 20 2009, at First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Paul Cypert of Harvest Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Louise was born September 20, 1918 in Floyd County to T.H. and Emma Boedeker. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1937 and attended Lippert’s Business College. She worked many different places including being the first female Manager at Plainview County Club. She was a Past-President of the 19th District of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She married Jimmy Hodel in July 1947. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Hodel Gregg; three brothers, Edwin, Bill, and Charlie Boedeker; and a sister, Helen McDonald. She is survived by a son, Johnny Hodel of Lubbock; one sister, Emma “Emmie” Bontke of Kress; one grandson, Chris Gregg of Plainview; and a great-granddaughter, Katelyn Gregg of Plainview.
