Walter “Wayne” Jackson, 84, of Plainview passed away on October 31, 2016. Services will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas with Pastor Susan Felty officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas A visitation will be held on Thursday November 3, 2016 from 6-7:30 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas. Wayne Jackson was born on March 14, 1932 to Robert and Zelma Jackson in Hale County, Texas. He attended Plainview High School until the 10th grade. He married Janaphar Gilbert on July 6, 1952. He was a farmer and spent almost two and a half years in Saudi Arabia farming. He was a cattle truck driver for many years and was the co-inventor of the Corn Saver in Dimmitt, Texas. He liked to snow-ski and water-ski. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Zelma Jackson; five brothers; Robert Earl Jackson, James Willie Jackson, Edward Henry Jackson, Gene Jackson and Wylie Roger Jackson; four sisters; Annie Mae Smith, Irene Briggs, Mamie Juel Slaughter and Minnie Faye George; a brother-in-law; James Weldon Harrison. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janaphar Jackson; one daughter, Ronda Jackson Brown and husband David of Sweetwater, TX; one son, Calvin Jackson of Plainview, TX; one sister, Joyce Glen Harrison of Fairfield, CA; three grandchildren; Janaphar Williams and husband Marc of Dumas, TX, Matthew Cy Jackson and wife Becky of Plainview, TX and Bradley Ty Jackson and wife Alecia of Wylie, TX; seven great-grandchildren; Callen Wayne Williams, Emily Wayde Williams, Jordan Nichole Jackson, Shelby Brook Jackson, Sydney Lane Jackson, Peyton Elizabeth Jackson and Harper Leigh Jackson.
