T. J. Powell (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Tony Carl Powell, Jr. was born September 10, 1989 in Tulia, Texas. He grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 2009. He worked for Affiliated Foods, Rip Griffins and for Steven Powell’s Construction. TJ is survived by two daughters: Jazelle Ortiz and Aneya Salazar, both of Tulia, three sons: Da’dren Powell, Jyreek Powell and Nasser De La Fuente, all of Tulia, his father: Tony Powell, Sr. of Tulia, his mother: Lula Powell of Amarillo, three sisters: Genice Powell of Tulia, Ashley Powell and T’mika Powell, both of Amarillo, one brother: Kendrae Crosslin of Tulia and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Henry and Nannie Jackson, Dora Powell White and J.D. Thomas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
