Tulia, Texas—Bobby Joe Collier, 61, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Bobby Collier was born on May 1, 1955 to Virgil Williams and Bernice Collier in Plainview. He was a longtime resident of Plainview. He graduated from Booker T. Washington HS in 1973. He went into driving trucks after telling his grandfather that he will no longer chop cotton in life, therefore he drove trucks for many, many years. If you knew him you know he loved listening to music. Later in life Bobby found his one and only true love and married Frances Yarbrough in 1992. They were married for 16 years before her death in 2008. Bobby was a very kind hearted person that had a ‘biggy’ heart for his kids and grandkids. Now that Bobby has gained his wings and went home he leaves and cherishes: his step-mother: Frances Williams of Ft. Worth, five sisters: Brenda and Elvis Ellis of Ft. Worth, Annette and Michael Nelson of Ft. Worth, Evelyn Simmons of Ft. Worth, Brenda Williams of Oklahoma and Queen Cook of Lubbock, three brothers: Gene Gook of Hale Center, Earnest Cook of Lubbock and Mickey Cook of Lubbock, his children: Monica Yarbrough of San Antonio, Neva Yarbrough of Plainview, Brandy Yarbrough of South Dakota, Merwyn Parker of Odessa, Johnathan Yarbrough of Plainview, Walter Yarbrough of Oklahoma, Kenneth Allen of Plainview and Colin Yarbrough of Plainview and 25 grandchildren.
