David Armontrout (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— David E. Armontrout, 71, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Central Church of Christ with Larry Stewart and Rodney Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the funeral home. David was born November 18, 1937 in Tulia. He grew up here and attended Tulia Schools. He married Shirley Boggess on September 3, 1955 in Tulia. He was a farmer and a truck driver for several years. He retired in 1999. He was a member of Central Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; Shirley Armontrout of Tulia, one son and daughter-in-law: David A. and Sharon Armontrout of Amarillo, one daughter and son-in-law: Sherrie and Mike Martin of Tulia, one brother: Audie Armontrout of Grandbury, one sister: Margie Ward of North Richland Hills, 3 grandchildren: Zack McCaslin of Amarillo, Andrew McCaslin of Lubbock and Shelbie Martin of Tulia, 1 step-grandson: Kevin Haynie and his wife Monica of Amarillo, 1 great granddaughter: Ryliegh Ann Haynie of Amarillo. He is preceded in death by his parents: Audie Monroe and Nora Armontrout and a sister: Stella Tucker. Memorials may be made to Swisher County 4-H, 310 W. Broadway, Tulia, Texas 79088.
