Earline Rogers, 83, of Tulia passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 in Tulia. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the Central Church of Christ with Mr. Eben Emerson, pastor officiating and Mr. Bob Colson assisting. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mrs. Rogers was born on May 1, 1922 in Vernon, Texas. She grew up in the Vernon area and graduated from high school there. She was a homemaker and a coach’s wife. The lived in Duncan, O.K., Lawton, O.K., McClain, Amarillo, and finally Tulia. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ, Tulia Garden Club, Quilting Club, and she was a member of a Study Club. She enjoyed many things such as quilting, painting, and working with porcelain. She also taught Sunday school for many years. She married J.W. “Hap” Rogers on July 12, 1941 in Fredrick, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Penny Sturgess and her husband Larry of Tulia, Suzy Arnold of Midland, Texas; one son, Jessie Rogers of Post, Texas; 10 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren,1 Great Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.M. and Mattie Capps; two sisters, Stella Woolsey and Pauline Stanley; three brothers, Leonard Capps, Jack Capps, M.C. Capps; and one great grandson, Cortlyn Arnold. The family suggests memorials to the Hi Plains Children’s Home or the Lubbock Children’s Home.
