Mary Ann Stair (Plainview)

Mary Ann Stair, 67, of Plainview, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Stair was born on June 8, 1938 in Lockney, Texas to Hugh Edward and Eathyl Inez Murphy Marble. Mary Ann graduated from Lockney High School in 1956 and married James Donald Stair on July 10, 1956 in Lockney. She lived six miles east of Plainview and lived in Hale County for fifty years. She was a member of the “Busy Hands” home demonstration club and Diabetic Club in Plainview. Mary had been an avid seamstress, active in the Plainview 4H Club and was a member of First Baptist Church. Mary Ann is survived by; one daughter Cindy Stair Hathaway and husband John of Austin; three sons Gary Stair and wife Susan of Tyler, Jerry Stair of Round Rock, Koy Stair of Wolfforth; five grandchildren Lauren and Meredith Stair of Lubbock, Sarah and Katherine Stair of Tyler, and Connor Hathaway of Austin. Mrs. Stair is preceded in death by her husband James Donald Stair, eldest son James Monty Stair and Brother Max Hugh Marble. Memorials may be made to Garrison Geriatric Education and Care Center, 3710 4th Street, Lubbock, TX 79415 A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
