Diana Basaldua (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Diana Basaldua, 70, of Tulia passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Tulia Christian Fellowship with Rev. Rusty Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A prayer service will be held Tuesday evening at Kornerstone from 5:30-7:00 P.M. Diana was born on December 4, 1946 in Sinton, Texas to Jessie and Manuela Ortiz. She attended schools in Tulia. She loved to work in her garden and feed all the neighborhood stray cats. She also loved her pets, Hiedi, Sancho, and Birdie. She made awesome salsa and enjoyed sewing and more than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Tulia Christian Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Adolfo and Arnolfo Ortiz. Survivors include her husband, Ruben Gonzales of Tulia; three sons, Chris Basaldua and wife Rebecca of Tulia, Bryan Basaldua of Tulia, Michael Basaldua and wife Maria of Tulia; one daughter, Lee Ann Basaldua of Tulia; one brother, Arturo Ortiz of Tulia; three sisters, Angelica Flores of Houston, America Cruz of Arlington, Angelina Cruz of Tulia; 11 Grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren and one on the way.
