Rosario Chavez (Tulia)

Rosario “Rose” Chavez, 48, of Tulia passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2006 in Tulia. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Tony Neusch officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Chavez was born on June 16, 1957 in Odessa. He grew up and attended schools in Quitique. He moved to Tulia in 1975 where he worked for North Plains Compress for many years as a fork lift operator. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, T-Ball, and girls softball. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit. He married Enedina Soliz on June 25, 1977 in Tulia. He was preceded in death by a son, Aurilio Chavez in 2000, and both of his parents, Ladislao and Celia Chavez He is survived by his wife, Enedina Chavez of Tulia; one daughter, Veronica Garcia of Tulia; one son, Christopher Chavez of Tulia; one brother, Cruz Chavez of Kress; four sisters, Teresa Calderoni of Clovis, N.M., Guadalupe Ruiz of Dallas, Julie Chavez of Omaha, Nebraska, Grace Evans of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, Amarillo Office, P.O. Box 50433, Amarillo, Texas 79159.
