Rose Rivera (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Rose Rivera, 71, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 9, 2017 in the Tulia Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Rusty Gray, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Rose was born on March 16, 1945 in San Antonio to John and Saccarias Garcia. She graduated Burbank High School. She married Joe Rivera, Sr. in 1974. She graduated from Texas Tech. She moved to Tulia in Dec. 1978. Her husband died in 2004. She worked for Swisher Memorial Hospital as the Dietician Supervisor and retired after 29 years. She is preceded n death by her parents, her husband and a brother: Ruben Garcia. She is survived by three daughters: Donna Huerta and husband Ray of Tulia, Angela Macias and husband Manuel of Cordell, Oklahoma and Dolores Arroyo and husband Uriel Martinez of Tulia, three sons: Israel Belmares and wife Hattie of Turkey, Jesse Belmares and wife Rosie of Tulia and Joe Rivera, Jr. and wife Holly of Cordell, Oklahoma, one brother: Robert Garcia of Lubbock, three sisters: Mary Gonzalez of Mineral Wells, Rachael Garza of Irving and Lucy Bottoms of Mesquite, 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
