Tulia, Texas—Edna Harris, 83, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 3, 2017 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Jason Stone, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Edna was born on October 18, 1933 in Tulia to Steven and Edith Derringer. She grew up in Tulia and attended Tulia schools. She married Cecil Harris in December 1965. She worked at Heard and Jones Drug Store for a few years and for Swisher Memorial Hospital as a nurse for several years. She was also a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by two daughters: Kathy Vaughn and husband Bobby and Ruth Gonzales, both of Tulia, two sons: Steven Kirkland and wife Elonda of Lubbock and Larry Kirkland and wife Cathy of Burns Flat, Oklahoma, two brothers: Jack Marrs and wife Roberta of Brownwood and Richard McDowell and wife Cindy of Tulia, four sisters: Pat Sanders and husband James of Tulia, Mary Kate Lane and husband Ed of Lampasas, Cindy Harper and husband John of Tulia and Jerry Nolen and husband Charlie of Tulia, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
