Tulia, Texas--Arnold Perry, 89, of Canyon, formerly of Tulia, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, went peacefully to be with his Lord on February 7, 2017. He entered this world on March 6, 1927 in Alex Oklahoma and born to William Athey and Fannie Perry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2017 in the First United Methodist Church in Tulia officiated by Rev. Jerrel Tomlin of Mineral Wells Church of God, assisted by Rev. Jerad Middaugh of Amarillo Southlawn Assembly of God with burial to follow in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Plainview. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lenora Perry of Canyon, 3 daughters; Inethia Taff of Caldwell, Texas, Brenda Hudson and husband Bobby of Tulia, Ramona Seago of Canyon, and 1 son; Douglas Perry and wife Katalina of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one on the way, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, five sisters, sons-in-law: Steve Taff and Buddy Seago and a grandson: Johnathan Ruff. Arnold served in the US Army in the Korean conflict during WWII from 1946-1947 and proudly wore his WWII Veteran Cap. He received the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. He was a route salesman with National Linen Service for 35 ½ years in Lubbock and Plainview, from where he retired, then he and his wife moved to Tulia in 1995 where they resided until they moved to Canyon in 2015. Arnold’s home churches included Plainview Church of God, Tulia Assembly of God and Amarillo Southlawn Assembly of God. He was a member of the Tulia VFW Post and the American Legion. He enjoyed playing dominoes and pool with his senior citizen buddies. He will be missed by all. Memorials may be made to the Tulia VFW Post, Tulia Senior Citizens or Amarillo Hospice of the Plains.
