Viola Lily Rowell (Plainview)

Viola Lily Rowell, 98, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Kris Knippa officiating. Interment will follow in Lockney Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Mrs. Rowell was born on October 9, 1918 in Lockney, Texas to Elias Morgan & Emma Bell Lawson. She married Henry Thomas Rowell on December 30, 1938 in Lockney. Mrs. Rowell attended Lippert Business College in Plainview. She worked as a business owner, last Post Mistress in Sterley, Texas and a wedding cake decorator to name a few of her many talents. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lockney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Thomas Rowell; her parents, Elias Morgan & Emma Bell Lawson; one daughter, Lahoma Florence Clower; one son, Lawson Reed Rowell; two brothers, Reed Lawson and Eugene Lawson; one great granddaughter, Lauren Shae Applewhite. She is survived by five granddaughters, Iroma Applewhite, Ramona Hillard, Denice Kirby, Kimberly Sierra and Amy Crawford; three grandsons, Keith Clower, Reed Rowell and Brandon Rowell. She is also survived by many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
