Tulia, Texas—Frances L. Henderson, 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 25, 2017 in the Vigo Park Community Church. Burial will follow in Vigo Park Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Frances was born on January 20, 1929 in Caddo, Texas to Bolavar Joshua and Charlottie McCollum. She attended schools in Frankel, Texas. She lived in Portales, NM where she met and married J.C. Henderson. They married on March 28, 1963 in Portales. They moved to Tulia at the end of 1964 and then to Vigo Park in 1968. She was very active in community service in Vigo Park. She was a member of the Vigo Park Baptist Church until it closed. She loved working at the Vigo Park Post Office and also loved cleaning the First Baptist Church in Vigo Park. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: J.C. Henderson on June 26, 1999, three brothers: Bob Edgar “Bobby” McCollum, Roy McCollum and Leo McCullom and two sisters: Willie D. Marler and Mary Evelyn Boyd. She is survived by her children: Charl Green of Amarillo, Vickie Ellis of Dumas, Jimmy Green of Amarillo and Clinton Henderson of Vigo Park, two brothers: John McCollum and Billy McCollum, both of Washington, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
