Ramona Gonzales (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Ramona Gutierrez Gonzales, 98, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, March 6, 2017 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father David Contreras officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Ramona was born on August 9, 1918 in Beeville, Texas to Teodoro and Inocencia Gutierrez. She lived here in Tulia since 1960. She married Felix Gonzales on May 27, 1961 in Tulia. She worked as a custodian at West Texas College in Canyon. She was a member of the Guadalupana’s and the Church of the Holy Spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Felix Gonzales, five sons: Oscar Gonzales, Joe Flores, Roy Flores, Sr., Ted Flores and Bob Martinez and all her brothers and sisters. She is survived by four daughters: Ramona Subealdea and husband Jaime of Tulia, Janie Derden and husband Cliff of Amarillo, Rebecca Basaldua and husband Chris of Tulia and Crissy Hernandez of Amarillo, one son: Simon Flores of Amarillo, 22 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 36 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
