Tulia, Texas-Alfredo Barron Muniz, 77, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Tulia. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Father David Contreras officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Alfredo was born on February 15, 1940 in De Witt County to Arnulfo and Elogia Muniz. He was a migrant worker and joined the United States Navy in 1960 and served four years. After the service he went to the oil fields and later became a life insurance agent. Alfredo then owned his own business as a labor contractor. He was known for being a hard working man. He is preceded in death by his wife: Andrea Gonzales Muniz, two sons: Abel Muniz and Ismael Muniz, two brothers: Cosme Muniz and Emilio Muniz. He is survived by his two sons: Jose Alfredo Muniz and wife Juanita of Lubbock and Samuel Muniz and wife Florence of Levelland, Andrea’s children: Anna Padilla of Tulia, Joe and Shelly Padilla of Bastrop, TX, Tomas Padilla and Theodore Padilla both of Canyon and John Christopher Padilla of Tulia, four sisters: Elma Kanan, Polly Diaz and husband Johnny, Kiki Kaltinger and Yolanda Diaz, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
