Henry Cruz, Sr. (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Henry Cruz, Sr., 85, passed away on March 3, 2017 in Tulia, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 9, 2017 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father David Contreras officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Henry Cruz, Sr. was born on February 28, 1932 to Estanislado and Maria Rivera Cruz in Gonzales County. He married Beatrice Ramos on April 3, 1954. They came to Swisher County in 1954 and lived in Vigo Park and worked for Curtis Latham for many years. In 1978 they moved into Tulia. He always enjoyed the presence of his family during BBQ times and playing baseball. He enjoyed the entertainment of music, playing dominoes and cards. Henry was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sons: Carlos Cruz, Paul Cruz and Ishmael Cruz, three sisters: Amelia Garcia, Anita Basaldua and Cecilia Barrera. He is survived by his wife: Beatrice Cruz of Tulia, two sons: Henry Cruz, Jr. and wife Wendy of Tulia, Fernando Cruz, Sr. and wife Vickie of Tulia, three daughters: Diana Ramos and husband Joel of Canyon, Mary Galan and husband Tino of Tulia and Ilda Galan and husband Oscar of Tulia, five brothers: David Cruz, Ernesto Cruz, Felix Cruz, Ted Cruz and Lino Carrasco; two sisters: Linda Avalos and Angelita Luna, 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren.
