Maria Socorro Lazcano, 67, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. A rosary will be held at 6 P.M. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the funeral home. Mrs. Lazcano was born on March 25, 1949 in Mexico to Ignacio Canales & Maria del Carmen Ramirez. She married Gaspar Lazcano on September 13, 1970. She grew up in Zacatecas, Mexico. She was self employed as a house keeper for 38 years. Mrs. Lazcano loved to sew and was a great seamstress. She was a very good cook and enjoyed reading and learning. She also loved to travel and learn about history, collect rocks and take pictures of her family, and antiquing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for numerous years. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ignacio Ramirez, Jr. and one sister, Ana Maria Canales. She is survived by her husband, Gaspar Lazcano of Plainview; three daughters, Norma Lazcano of Plainview, Dina Sepulveda of Hereford and Cindy Castillo of Amarillo; one son, Gaspar Lazcano of Plainview; one brother, Manuel DeJesus Canales of El Paso; one sister, Beatriz Canales of El Paso; seven grandchildren, Vanessa Lee Seca, Pete Seca IV, Natalie Sepulveda, Marisol Holguin, Ivan Torres, Joseph Tomas Castillo and Stella Maria Castillo and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 3511 10th Street, Lubbock, TX 79415.
