Christine Wilkins, 81 of Plainview passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Prairie House Living Center after a courageous 15 year battle with Parkinsons. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Wilkins was born September 27, 1927 to Dan and Lily Sutton in Deport, Texas. She married Edward E. Wilkins on November 18, 1941 in Grant County, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2000. They moved to the Plainview area in 1943 where they farmed in the Bellevue Community. She worked for Sears and Roebuck from 1966 to 1977. They moved to Port Isabel and returned to Plainview in 1980 where they retired. She is survived by one daughter: Joan Fore and husband Wayne of Plainview; two sons: Dan E. Wilkins and wife Debi of Plainview and Harold D. Wilkins and wife Sue of Gilmer, Texas; one brother: Tommy Ferguson of Spring, Texas; six grandchildren: Paul Wilkins and wife Lori of Plainview, Dan Wilkins, Jr. and wife Rachel of Krugerville, Brent Wilkins and wife LeAnn of Leander, Christy W. Fuller and husband James of Keller, Stacy Harris Edwards and husband Brian of College Station and Leslie Fore of Plainview; sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter, Wanda Harris.
