Tulia, Texas—Charlie A. Chapman, 92, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Helms, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm at the funeral home. Charlie was born in Choccolocco, Alabama on March 18, 1924. Charlie, Donna and family resided and farmed in the Coldwater Community north of Dalhart, Texas for 45 years and moved to Tulia in 1996. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and served in the European campaign during WWII in units commanded by General George Patton. He loved God, his family and his country. He is preceded in death by his parents: Charlie Lonzo Chapman and Rose Etta Pearl Chapman, his brothers: Floyd, Melvin, Fred and Bill Chapman and his sister: Beulah Snider. He is survived by his wife: Donna Chapman of Tulia, TX, one daughter: Carolyn Baker and husband Tommy of Plainview, TX, four sons: Terry Chapman and wife Sharon of Raytown, MO, Frank Chapman of wife Judy of Lafayette, LA, Jim Chapman and wife Terri of Beeville, TX, and Richard Chapman and wife Becky of Tulia, TX, his sisters: Tula Borden and husband Harland and Ellie Turner, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
