Tulia, Texas—Ina May Wilson May, 94, died Monday, August 31, 2009 in Canyon. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in the First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. James Hassell, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-7pm Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the funeral home. Ina was born February 19, 1915 in Paluxy, Hood Co., Texas, the only child of George Eugene and Lou Ollie Weaks Wilson. She came to Briscoe Co., in 1921. She graduated Tulia High School in 1932. She married Murray Marshall May on August 7, 1937 in Raton, NM. They were members of Vigo Park Baptist Church for several years where she was a Sunday school teacher and the church clerk. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club at Vigo Park for years and active as a 4-H leader. They moved into Tulia in 1991 and joined First Baptist Church. She and Murray volunteered several years at the Good Shepherd Outreach Center. Murray died August 3, 1996 just 4 days short of their 59th wedding anniversary. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Lynda and Murray Arrington of Amarillo and Donna and Doug Crouser of Carrollton, Virginia, two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law: Mark and Mariah Crouser of Kansas City, Missouri and Jason and Laura Arrington of Borger and her dog "Pepper" who was her buddy for the past few years. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter, Suite 404, Amarillo, Texas 79106 or to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 450, Tulia, Texas 79088.
