Raymond Whitfill, 75, of Plainview passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 24, 2017 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Kyle Streun, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Denver City officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, March 23, 2017 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Raymond was born on August 16, 1941 to Nathan Eugene and Dorothy Rose Whitfill. He attended Plainview schools and graduated from Plainview High School in 1959. He served in the US Army from 1959-1961. He married Jan Burnett on June 25, 1965. She was the love of his life. They had two daughters, Shelly and Kelly. Raymond worked for NCR for 31 years as a field engineer. He also co-owned Performance Automotive with his brother. In addition to his work at NCR, Raymond farmed outside of Plainview. Raymond worked hard to provide for and support his family. He loved woodworking and was a talented craftsman and he could repair anything. Raymond adored his two daughters and was devoted to his grandchildren. He loved attending the kids baseball games and other events. Raymond always wanted a son and got two when his daughters married. He loved his sons-in-law as his own. He was a devoted family man and left a void that cannot be filled. He will be greatly missed. Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Jan; his daughters, Shelly Russell and her husband, Bobby and their children, Zach, Zane, Zander, Zoe, and Zeb; his daughter, Kelly Davison and her husband, Dennis and their sons, Tate, Tanner, Trevor, and Tyler. He is also survived by his brothers and their spouses, Richard and JoElla Whitfill, Bobby and Jean Whitfill, and Gary and Dee Whitfill, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
