Glenda Jo James

Glenda Jo James, a long-time resident of the Plainview area, passed away peacefully Tuesday the 4th of April in Beaumont, Tx. Glenda was born on February 3, 1938 in Littlefield, TX. She loved to knit, play the piano, and play games with friends and family. Glenda resided at Westridge Manor and Prairie House during her later years. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Norma James, and a sister, Jeananne who passed away at the age of one. She is survived by her brother Johnny James of Beaumont, niece Amy Detwiler of Beaumont, nephew Jason James of Plainview and two great-nephews, one great-niece and one great-great nephew. The family wishes to extend special thanks to three of Glenda's aunts, Helen Pair, Bonnie Faye Gaston, and Joyce McBride all of Plainview for the special love and care they gave Glenda during her lengthy illness. A visitation with friends and family will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Home Thursday evening from 5-7 pm. The funeral service will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel, Friday morning at 10:00 am with a graveside service following at 1:00 pm at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers be made to Professional Health Care Hospice, 2533 Calder Ave., Beaumont, TX, 77702.
