Edgar Lee Borchardt (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Edgar Lee Borchardt, 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, April 14, 2017 in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ernie McGaughey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Edgar was born at home east of Tulia in the Redhill Community on August 25, 1931 to William Otto and Cora Wright Borchardt. He attended Redhill schools and graduated from Tulia High School in 1948. He grew up on the family farm. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1955 and the US Army Reserves from 1956-1962. He married Neta Franks on December 22, 1959. He loved farming and square dancing and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughter: Karie Denise Borchardt, two brothers: Billy Bob Borchardt and Nelson Borchardt and a granddaughter: Makala Borchardt. He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law: Brian and Natalie Borchardt of Tulia, Rex and Teresa Borchardt of Tulia and four grandchildren: Jacob Borchardt, Mark Borchardt and Naomi Borchardt, all of Tulia and Kara Lacey of Lubbock.
