Clifton Jackson (Tulia)

Clifton Ray Jackson, 69, died Monday, May 8, 2006 at his residence. Wake services will be held at 7:00pm Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel and funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, May 11, 2006 in the Jackson Chapel Church of God in Christ with Rev. Melvin Tatum, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. Mr. Jackson was born March 3, 1937 in Corsicana, Texas. He grew up in Kerns, Texas and moved to Tulia in 1957. He married Tressie Davis in 1972. He worked for Excel for the past 32 years. He liked rebuilding old cars and working on his hog farm. He was a member of the Jackson Chapel Church of God in Christ. Survivors include his wife, Tressie Jackson of the home; his mother, Johnny Mae Hall of Plainview; 3 sons and 6 daughters, Clifford and Tonya Jackson, Linda Kay Lestig, Linda Faye and Alvis McKnight, Janice Strickland, Vicky and Vernon Vaughn, all of Ft. Worth, Texas, Colin and Elonda Jackson of Columbus, Georgia, Anthony and Ann Davis, Sharon and Joe Shaffer, Patricia and Willie Davis all of Amarillo; 1 sister, Bobbie Goen of Lubbock, Texas; 2 brothers, Willie B. Hall, Sr. of New Jersey and Johnny B. Jackson of Dallas; 36 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
