Claytonville, Texas— Charles J. (Chuck) Helton, 57, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, September 5, 2009 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia with Rev. David Speed, pastor of Osage Baptist Church in Amarillo officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Chuck was born February 18, 1952 on Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, Texas. He moved to Claytonville at a young age and attended schools at Kress and graduating from Kress High School. He was a very talented welder and a farmer. Survivors include his parents Edwin and Shirley Stark of Claytonville, his girlfriend, Dee Tormey of Claytonville, his children: Amy Newsome of Hart, Stacy Hall and husband Jeff of Plainview and Billie Helton of Des Moines, Iowa, one brother: Kenny Helton of Amarillo, three sisters: Sharon Helton of Claytonville, Kathie Gorman and husband Kenneth of Pleasant View, Colorado and Cindy Carothers and husband Tommy of Tulia, his grandchildren: Alyson Bolding, Chris Bolding, Mackenzie Winders and Krece Winders. He is preceded in death by his dad: Charles Helton and his sister: Karen Stark.
