Tulia, Texas— Ellouise Agnes Vaughan House, 76, passed from this life to the next on Thursday, May 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 15, 2017 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis House, Mrs. Lee Moore and Rev. Karan Young officiating. A private burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Ellouise was born on April 25, 1941 to Simmie and Zora Vaughan in Plainview. She attended Happy, Texas schools. She married A.G. House on August 17, 1958. She worked for US Custom Harvesters from 1985 to 2001 as Executive Secretary and was inducted into the USCHI Hall of Fame in 2001. Ellouise and A.G. were known as Mama and Papa by their grandchildren as well as other family members and many friends. She loved arts and crafts, gardening with grandchildren, making jewelry, retail therapy and the yearly family vacation in Colorado held every year for the last 51 years. She had an inward strength that came from her faith in Jesus. Through her faith in Jesus she battled many trials including the diagnosis of ALS 18 years ago. Her motto was “I have ALS, but ALS doesn’t have me.” She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Francis Pearl Hutson. She is survived by her husband of almost 59 years: A.G. House, her children: Kelly and Nancy House, Nancy and Paul Scarborough, Shelly and Jim Bayless, Curtis and Allison House, her sister: Martha Hooper, twelve grandchildren: Aaron Scarborough, Amy McNeill, Kylee Smith, Britney McCullough, Brett House, Jordan Cox, James Bayless, Jonathan Bayless, Wade House, Bethani House, Emma Lee House, Hadlee House and eight great grandchildren.
