Eleanor Dirks (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Eleanor Dirks, 91, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Canyon. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Eleanor was born on July 2, 1925 in Tulia, Texas to James and Lena Love. She graduated from Tulia and married Jerome “Jerry” Dirks on February 11, 1950 in Portales, NM. She was a homemaker for many years and later worked as a file clerk at the Panhandle Plains Student Loans Center in Canyon for 25 years. She attended University Church of Christ in Canyon. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son: Larry Douglas Dirks, five siblings: Mary Gregg, Helen Hooper, Jim Ned Love, Rusty Love and Billy Charles Love. She is survived by her daughter: Jamie Irlbeck of Canyon, two grandchildren: Carleigh Elizabeth Brown and Carson Douglas Irlbeck.
