Lozetta Bussey (Plainview)

Lozetta Bussey, 72, of Plainview, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, in Plainview. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Northside Baptist Church in Plainview, with Rev. James Williams officiating. Graveside services will be in Castro Memorial Gardens in Dimmitt under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Friday, September 11, 2009, at the funeral home. Mrs. Bussey was born on April 24, 1937 in Randolph, Texas to William and Chloe Cathey. She grew up in West Texas. She married James “J.W.” Bussey on July 3, 1958 in Dimmitt, Texas. They moved to Plainview in 1963. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Northside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “J.W.” Bussey; daughter, Danita Kay Bussey; brothers, Leon Cathey, Fennon Cathey; and her parents, William and Chloe Cathey. Mrs. Bussey is survived by her three children, Laura Goodrum and husband Jerry of Vernon, Wally Bussey of Christiansburg, Virginia, Penny Mills and husband Greg of Marble Falls; one brother, James Carlton Cathey and wife Jean of Quitaque, Texas; one sister, Charlene Bivens of Tulia; sister-in-law, Jean Cathey of Quinlan, Texas; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren Memorial donations may be made to Northside Baptist Church Children’s Program, 1100 W. 32nd, Plainview, Texas 79072.
