Tulia, Texas-Sharon Helton, 64, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Sharon was born on April 21, 1953 in Panama City, Florida. She grew up in Claytonville, TX and graduated from Kress high School in 1972. She served in the US Army until she was medically discharged. She lived in El Paso for 20 years before moving back to Claytonville. She was a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and served as State President in 2012. She was an avid bowler, a lover of animals and loved to be outdoors. She is preceded in death by her parents: Edwin and Shirley Stark, one brother: Chuck Helton, two sisters: (her twin) Karen Stark and Cindy Carothers and a nephew: Dusty Helton. She is survived by her brother: Kenny Helton of Guymon, OK, her sister: Kathie Gorman and husband Kenneth of Pleasant View, CO, a brother-in-law: Tommy Carothers of Tulia, seven nieces and nephews: Amy Newsome, Stacy Hall, Billie Helton, Misti Damron, Brandon Helton, Eric Carothers and Tanner Carothers, 11 great nieces and nephews and two great, great nieces and nephews.
