John Johnson (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—John Johnson, 80, died Thursday, September, 10, 2009 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 15, 2009 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Matthew Veals, pastor of New Fellowship Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. John was born Nov. 9, 1928 in Decatur. He attended schools at Decatur and Alvarado. He worked in feed stores and was a farmhand. He would ride around Tulia on his bike and pick up cans. Survivors include four brothers and three sisters: Bobby Johnson of Tulia, Lenious Johnson of Lubbock, Maurice Johnson of Wichita Falls, Jackie Johnson of Temple, Cora Yarbrough of Tulia, Lillie Davis of Amarillo and Leanna Johnson of Wichita Falls.
