Sarah Downey(Plainview)

Sarah Irene Downey, 98, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 12, 2017 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Ron Warren, officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Sarah was born on April 24, 1919 in Miller, Oklahoma. She married John Wesley Downey on March 11, 1943 in Tucson, Arizona. They lived in Halfway for 55 years. She is preceded in death by her parents; William Albert and Dolly Hall and her husband; John Wesley Downey. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Johnny Downey and wife Norma of Halfway; two grandchildren, David and Karen Downey of Lubbock and Lori and Scott McCrory of Allen and six great-grandchildren In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Plainview, 205 W. 8th St., Plainview, Texas 79072.
