Clara “Granny” Dyer, 97, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2009, in Plainview. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Coates, associate pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hale Center Cemetery in Hale Center, Texas under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Dyer was born on May 4, 1912 in Comanche County, Texas to Jesse and Ada Teal. They moved to Cotton Center in 1925. She attended a country school east of Cotton Center called Anchor which was a two teacher school house. She married W.B. “Bud” Dyer on October 5, 1932 in Clovis, New Mexico. She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She enjoyed singing with a group called the Sunshine Survivors in which they performed to radio audiences. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. “Bud” Dyer; one son, Jack Stanley Dyer; three brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Dyer is survived by her daughter-in-law, Arlene Dyer Foster of Hart; three grandchildren, Cindy Davis and husband Lonny of Hart, Stanley Dyer and wife Rhonda of Hart, Kim Dyer and wife Suzanne of Marble Falls; six great grandchildren, Jay Davis of Dumas, Angie Walters of Loop, Dustin Dyer of Hart, Neesha Leon of Marble Falls, Holley Gray of Marble Falls, Breeanne Dyer of Marble Falls; and nine great great-grandchildren.
